About Short Heath Park
Short Heath Park is a public park in the Short Heath area of Erdington, north Birmingham, managed by Birmingham City Council and listed on the council's directory as Short Heath Recreation Ground. The park covers approximately 14.5 acres and lies a short walk from Erdington High Street, making it a convenient local green space. Its facilities include a children's playground and an outdoor gym, alongside open grassed areas for informal play and walking, and there is parking for visitors. As a neighbourhood recreation ground it offers a straightforward mix of play and fitness provision rather than extensive formal gardens, serving the surrounding residential streets of Short Heath and wider Erdington. The combination of a dedicated play area for younger visitors and outdoor gym equipment for older children and adults makes it a flexible space for families and exercisers alike. It is one of several council-managed parks and recreation grounds in the Erdington area that together form a network of accessible local open spaces.
