About Southwark Park Playground
Southwark Park is a Grade II-listed park and garden in the Rotherhithe and Bermondsey area of the London Borough of Southwark, close to the banks of the River Thames. Covering roughly 63 acres, it is one of the oldest municipal parks in London. Its children's play area was restored as part of recent improvements and offers swings, a slide and other equipment for a range of ages. The toddler section is completely fenced off from the rest of the playground, which makes it easier for parents to supervise very young children. Beyond the playground, the park offers a wide range of sporting facilities, a cafe, an art gallery, a boating lake and ornamental gardens, making it a popular family destination. The nearest stations are Bermondsey and Canada Water on the Jubilee line, and several bus routes serve the area.
