About Mile End Park Play Pavilion Playground
The Play Pavilion and Children's Park sits within Mile End Park and is run by the Parks and Open Spaces team at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a fully inclusive playground designed to stimulate creative and imaginative play, with equipment suitable for younger children and around half fully accessible to children of all abilities. Features include a castle to climb on, a dry riverbed with boats and bridges, an imaginative sand pit, swings and other traditional equipment set in green space. An interactive water feature operates during the school summer holidays. The playground was the first 'eco' playground of its kind installed in the UK, with some elements made from recycled food packaging waste and produced using low-carbon methods. A kiosk in the playground serves hot and cold drinks and snacks. The adjacent Play Pavilion building is fully accessible and hosts free Stay and Play sessions for under 5s Monday to Friday during term time. The playground is free to use and open daily from 10am to 5pm, closing only on Christmas Day.
