About Brunswick Park

Brunswick Park lies about a kilometre east of the centre of Wednesbury and is owned and operated by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. It was opened in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, and it retains the character of a traditional Victorian municipal park while offering plenty of modern facilities for families. At its centre families will find a children's play area, complemented by a skate park for wheeled sports, outdoor gym equipment and a multi-use games area for informal ball games. There are tennis courts and football pitches for organised sport, and the park's bandstand is a reminder of its heritage and a focal point for events. Circular walking routes make it easy to enjoy a gentle stroll around the green space, which is popular with local residents, dog walkers and runners. With its mix of Victorian heritage, open lawns and a good spread of play and sport facilities, Brunswick Park is a well-used community park for the Wednesbury area. It is free to enter and open to the public at all times.
