About Millwall Park Playground
Millwall Park is a large green space on the Isle of Dogs, managed by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and holder of a Green Flag Award. A new children's playground was installed in 2021 as the first recipient of the council's multi-million pound investment plan for local parks and playgrounds. The playground combines the former toddler and junior areas into a single space so carers can watch children of all ages at once, and its design incorporates the park's railway arches. More than half of the equipment is fully inclusive, allowing children with additional needs to access creative and imaginative play. New safety surfacing, paths, benches and picnic tables were added, along with a landscaped sensory space, a nature zone and native species trees to support local biodiversity. The park also has a play centre for children aged 4 and below and an outdoor gym installed in 2018. Sports facilities including bowls, cricket, rugby and football pitches are available on a pay-to-play basis. The park is free to enter and is close to Mudchute and Island Gardens DLR stations.
