About Greenwich Park Playground
Greenwich Park Playground sits in the north-east corner of Greenwich Park, the oldest of London's enclosed Royal Parks, close to the Maze Hill gate. Managed by The Royal Parks, the playground was designed around a maritime theme that echoes Greenwich's naval history, using natural loose materials such as logs, rope and bark alongside sand and water play areas. Popular features include a large basket swing and a roundabout. The layout places play elements both at ground level and within raised channels of varying height, so that less-abled and able-bodied children can play together. On-site facilities include children's toilets with an accessible toilet, baby change, picnic tables and seating, a drinking water fountain and a refreshment kiosk. The playground is free to use and is suitable for children up to around age 12. Opening hours follow the park's seasonal gate times, and the site is reached easily from Maze Hill station and local bus routes along Trafalgar Road.
