About Richmond Park
Richmond Park is a public park on Hastilar Road South in the Richmond area on the east side of Sheffield, looked after by Sheffield City Council and the Friends of Richmond Park. For families, the park has a large children's playground with equipment to suit all ages, making it a popular spot for a day out. Alongside the playground is a multi-use games area (MUGA) laid out for football, basketball and cricket, as well as large football fields for informal games. The park also contains sizeable areas of woodland with a wide range of trees — including oak, ash, hazel, holly, hawthorn, birch, silver birch, horse chestnut and rowan — plus a small orchard area, giving it a green, semi-natural feel. There are picnic areas and benches dotted around the park, and dogs are welcome. Reached from the Richmond Park Road area in the S13 postcode, it is a well-used neighbourhood green space that combines active play and sport with quieter wooded corners. Richmond Park is free to visit and open as an unenclosed green space year-round, serving the surrounding Richmond and Hastilar communities.
