About Parson Cross Park

Parson Cross Park is a large public park of around 66 acres in Parson Cross, in the northern part of Sheffield, managed by Sheffield City Council. It is a spacious green space with facilities for walking, play, exercise and quiet time, serving the surrounding residential community. For families, the park's children's playground was improved as part of a £100,000 public-health-funded programme to upgrade playgrounds across several Sheffield parks, with new play equipment and improvements to safety and accessibility. The park also received Sheffield's first 'Cruyff Court' — a high-quality, floodlit all-weather playing surface built on part of the park's multi-use games area — giving older children and teenagers a dedicated space for football and other sports. Beyond this there are full-size grass football pitches, bowls and plenty of open grassland for informal games. A car park serves visitors to the park. Local groups and the Friends of Parson Cross Park have worked to bring the park back to the heart of community life, and ongoing refurbishment has continued to improve its facilities. Free to visit and open year-round, Parson Cross Park is a key recreation space for north Sheffield.
