About Longley Park

Longley Park is a public park within the City of Sheffield, lying between the suburbs of Longley and Firth Park about two and a half miles north of the city centre. It is a local green space listed among Sheffield City Council's parks and is free to visit. The park's play and sports facilities sit next to the Crowder Road car park: separate play areas for toddlers and for older children were officially opened by the Lord Mayor in February 2006, giving families dedicated spaces for different ages. Around the play areas there is open grassland and a network of paths that make the park popular for walks and casual recreation, and it has also been used as a venue for local cross-country running events. Its position between two established residential suburbs makes it an easy, everyday destination for nearby families, with parking right by the play areas. As with the rest of Sheffield's council parks, entry and use of the playground are free.
