About Firth Park

Firth Park is a historic public park in the north of Sheffield, in the ward and suburb that share its name. It covers about 15.2 hectares (37.6 acres) spread over two long areas separated by Firth Park Road, mixing open grassland with woodland. The park is managed by Sheffield City Council, is open at all times and has no admission charge. The current children's playground includes swings, a toddler climbing unit, springers and a rope climbing unit, with a grass area to run around on and seating and picnic benches nearby. In 2025 the council confirmed funding for significant play improvements, including a playground focused on older children and upgrades to the existing play area: an accessible multi-climber with two slides, a new accessible roundabout and a new trim trail, plus a teenager-focused area with a large central net climbing structure, a rope swing, a wheelchair-accessible trampoline, a spinning disc, a table tennis table and hanging bars. With open space, woodland and improving play facilities, Firth Park is a valued free green space for families in north Sheffield.
