About Falinge Park
Falinge Park is a popular Victorian park in the Spotland area, close to Rochdale town centre, which opened to the public in 1906. It is a Grade II registered historic park, laid out with formal gardens, sweeping lawns and specimen trees, and features a restored bandstand at its heart. The park is owned by Rochdale Borough Council. For families, it offers good play facilities split by age, with a larger adventure playground toward the back of the park and a smaller play area suited to younger children near the front, giving space for toddlers and older kids alike. A duck pond adds interest for a wander, and there are wide, smooth paths well suited to scooting, cycling and buggies around open grassy areas that are ideal for picnics. A bowling green operates seasonally, closing over the winter months for maintenance. There is no onsite car park, although street parking may be available on roads around the park's perimeter. Guide dogs are welcome. The combination of generous play provision, heritage features and green open space makes Falinge a well used local park, and it is free to enter.
