About Bede Park
Bede Park is a free, public park close to Leicester city centre in the Westcotes ward, on Western Boulevard beside the River Soar on Bede Island. Managed by Leicester City Council, it was created as a new city park and has since been extended using developer contributions. For families, the park has a children's play area with a slide that is well used by local children, set within open green space with walking and cycling paths along the river. A later extension added an outdoor gym area, a parkour area, new seating and a barbecue area, giving older children, teenagers and adults more to do.
