About Malls Mire Community Woodland

Malls Mire Community Woodland is a woodland park and Local Nature Reserve in Toryglen, on the south side of Glasgow, created by transforming around 16 hectares of derelict land into a multi-purpose park and nature reserve. Delivered by Clyde Gateway in a roughly £3.3-3.5 million scheme and officially opened at a community event, the park was designed as a 'woodland retreat' for the surrounding Prospecthill community and is managed within the Glasgow City Council area. For families there are two children's play areas with natural play equipment, alongside a bike pump track, an outdoor gym and open recreational space. The wider site includes a wetland area and a network of paths for walkers and cyclists weaving through young woodland and habitats. The community group Urban Roots runs an active programme of stewardship and wellbeing activities across Malls Mire, including practical conservation, therapeutic gardening, outdoor education and natural play, giving the park a strong community focus. Combining play, cycling, fitness, woodland and wetland, Malls Mire Community Woodland is a free, public green space and valued nature reserve for Toryglen and the south side of Glasgow.
