About Linn Park
Linn Park is Glasgow's second-largest park, an 82-hectare Local Nature Reserve on the Southside, acquired by Glasgow Corporation in 1919 and brought within the city boundary in 1938. Once part of the Maxwell estates, it still holds the remains of Cathcart Castle and the early-19th-century Linn House, and the White Cart Water winds through its woodlands past the historic Snuffmill Bridge. For families it has two children's play grounds, with the play area near the Old Castle Road and Seil Drive entrance aimed at older children. The park's adventure playground has been sub-leased to The Yard, a Scottish charity that supports disabled children and young people aged 0 to 25 and their families through adventure play, with the Linn Park Adventure Play Centre completed in 2025. An active Friends of Linn Park group supports the park. It is managed by Glasgow City Council, is free to enter and open at all times, with facilities subject to their own hours.
