About St Thomas Pleasure Ground

St Thomas Pleasure Ground is a neighbourhood park serving the St Thomas area on the west side of the River Exe, within easy reach of Cowick Street. Owned and managed by Exeter City Council, it is free to use and is a firm favourite with local families. Its main attractions are a colourful children's play area and a modern splash pad, the latter forming part of the council's popular Splashdown water-play programme. The splash pad was given a makeover to add a newly improved spongy safety surface, a bright, colourful setting and jets of water, and it typically opens seasonally from 10am to 7pm, seven days a week, during the warmer months. Together the playground and splash pad make the park an excellent destination for younger children, offering both traditional play and water fun in one spot. The surrounding open green space is used for picnics and informal play, and the park's position in a busy residential district makes it easy to reach on foot. As with the city's other pleasure grounds, St Thomas Pleasure Ground is open to the public free of charge throughout the year.
