About Bull Meadow
Bull Meadow is a small, leafy park close to Exeter city centre, on the edge of the St Leonard's area and near the Higher Cemetery. It is owned and managed by Exeter City Council and is free for everyone to use. Despite its modest size, the park packs in a range of mature trees, open green space and a children's play area that includes a zip wire, making it a handy spot for families living in or visiting the central part of the city. There is a separate area designed for younger children, so toddlers and older children can play comfortably alongside one another. The park also forms part of a pleasant green walking route that links through towards Magdalen Street, giving it value both as a play destination and as a pedestrian link. In 2023 the council confirmed there were no plans to sell any of the land at Bull Meadow, reaffirming its status as protected public open space. With its central location, shade from established trees and family-friendly play equipment, Bull Meadow remains a well-used neighbourhood green space throughout the year, free of charge and open to all.
