About Fairmilehead Park

Fairmilehead Park is a City of Edinburgh Council park on Camus Avenue off Comiston Road in the south of the city, holding Green Flag status. Its play area was rebuilt in 2011 and caters for toddlers, juniors and teenagers, with a large net climbing structure and slide, a cableway ride, swings including a basket swing, a rotating net roundabout, football and basketball goals and dedicated teenage play equipment. The play area is inspected regularly by engineers. Beyond the playground the park offers open grassland, seating and a variety of trees such as sycamore, beech, conifer, elder and holly, supporting local wildlife. As a free, open neighbourhood park with recognised Green Flag quality it is a well-regarded local green space for the Fairmilehead community. It is served by Lothian Buses routes and managed by the City of Edinburgh Council, and is freely accessible throughout the year. The all-ages play equipment, from the basket swing and rotating net roundabout to the teenage section and ball goals, means the park works well for families with children of different ages visiting together, all set within an attractive, well-maintained green space.
