About Colinton Mains Park
Colinton Mains Park is a City of Edinburgh Council park on Oxgangs Road North, serving the Colinton Mains and Oxgangs neighbourhoods. It is one of Edinburgh's busiest parks for sport, offering three full-size and three seven-a-side grass football pitches to a premier-quality standard. In the north-east corner of the park there is a children's play area, created in 2010, with swings, a roundabout, a multi-play roller coaster, slides and climbing nets. A separate area for teenagers includes a seating area and a football goal flanked on either side that can also be used for basketball. The play area was funded by the City of Edinburgh Council together with Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN). The combination of extensive pitches and good-quality separate toddler and teen play equipment makes it a well-used free local resource. The park is managed by the council and is freely accessible year round for play, sport and informal recreation.
