About Heath Park

Heath Park is a large public park in the Heath area of north Cardiff, managed by Cardiff Council and holding a Green Flag Award. It combines open playing fields with woodland and wildlife ponds and a wide range of sport and play facilities. The children's playground is split for two age groups: younger children have a smaller climbing frame with a slide, swings and springy ride-on animals, while older children have a wooden climbing structure with a tunnel slide and rope bridge plus swings. The park is also home to a miniature steam railway run by the Cardiff Model Engineering Society, which opens to the public on occasional running days for a small charge. Other facilities include pitch-and-putt golf, tennis courts, a floodlit 3G pitch and football and rugby pitches. A kiosk serves tea, coffee and snacks, with toilets available when the kiosk is staffed. The park itself is free to enter and open 24 hours a day. Pay-and-display car parks within the park are free for the first two hours for park users. Dogs are welcome in the wider park.
