About Hazelwell Park
Hazelwell Park is a local green space in Stirchley, south Birmingham, managed by Birmingham City Council. The park is largely open grassland that slopes uphill from the River Rea, and it is served by the Rea Valley Cycle Route, which runs through the bottom of the park, making it a handy stop for families out on the cycle trail. For younger visitors there is an enclosed children's play area. The park borders the Hazelwell allotments, and because of its position close to the river it is prone to flooding. As a neighbourhood park it suits a local play session, a walk or a ride along the Rea Valley rather than a full day out, and it forms part of the chain of green spaces along the river corridor through Stirchley and the surrounding area.
