About Churwell Park
Churwell Park is a community park in Churwell, on the south-west edge of Leeds, managed by Leeds City Council as part of its parks and countryside service. The park's children's play areas underwent a major improvement programme supported by over £100,000 of funding, and additional play equipment for younger children was added following a campaign by local councillors. Alongside the playground, the park has a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and a skate park off Park Street, giving older children and teenagers space for sport and activity. To keep the play spaces clean and safe, the playground and MUGA are designated dog exclusion areas, and smoking is prohibited in the playground area. The park was recently confirmed as being retained for community use by Leeds City Council following resident concerns. Churwell Park is a valued local green space for families in the Morley area of Leeds.
