About Western Flatts Cliff Park

Western Flatts Cliff Park is a community park in Wortley, west Leeds, managed by Leeds City Council. After years of local campaigning — more than 1,000 people signed a petition for improvements in 2021 — a long-awaited new playground opened in June 2024 in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Lord Mayor of Leeds. Located at the top of the park, the play area was designed for tots to teens and features inclusive play equipment, including swings, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout funded by the Outer West Community Committee, and accessible picnic benches. Since opening it has welcomed many new visitors to the park, which locals hoped would encourage more families to use the space. Beyond the playground, the park offers a football field, tennis courts, a rose garden and a bowling club. With its new inclusive facilities and elevated setting, Western Flatts Cliff Park is a welcoming green space for families in the LS12 area of Leeds.
