About Lickey Hills Country Park

Lickey Hills Country Park is one of Birmingham's most varied and treasured green spaces, covering 524 acres of hills, woodland and heathland about 10 miles south-west of the city centre, and is managed by Birmingham City Council. Park rangers are based at the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre at the end of Warren Lane, off Rose Hill, where visitors can view a site map with way-marked walking routes and pick up information about the hills. The visitor centre is open daily from 10am to 4:20pm in winter and until 5:50pm in summer, and houses accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities. Its cafe opens at the same time as the centre each day and closes 30 minutes before the building shuts. There is a children's play area near the visitor centre; the council has consulted in 2025 on a brand new, all-age, fully inclusive play area to replace the existing one, which is no longer fit for purpose and suffers from poor accessibility and regular flooding. The hills are a popular spot for walking, with panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.
