About Mead Open Farm

Mead Open Farm is a 30-acre farm park at Billington near Leighton Buzzard, widely regarded as Bedfordshire's leading farm attraction and an easy trip from Luton. Opened in 1994 as one of the county's first open farms, it combines a traditional farm visit with a huge amount of play. Children can meet sheep, cows and pigs alongside goats, rabbits, ponies, alpacas and even a reindeer, and join daily hands-on animal activities such as lamb and goat feeding. Play is a major part of the day: outdoors there is a big adventure playground with rock climbing and a rope bridge, go-karts, crazy golf and digger village, while indoors there is a large dedicated adventure play area, so visits work whatever the weather. Facilities include food and drink outlets, toilets with accessible options, and free on-site parking; the farm is wheelchair friendly and publishes an accessibility guide. It is a cashless venue and no dogs are allowed except registered assistance dogs. Open daily 10am-5pm with last entry at 4:15pm; online booking is available and admission varies by day and season.
