About Lewsey Park

Lewsey Park is a large green space in the north west of Luton, free to enter and offering a wide range of outdoor recreation for the local community. The park contains sports pitches, allotments and a sizeable play park, with walking paths and open green space threaded through it, and Lewsey Brook, a minor tributary of the River Lea, runs through the site adding natural interest and supporting local wildlife. For families the main draw is a large and popular children's play area, which sits to the rear of the car park with gates on either side; around the play equipment the surface is soft rubberised paving and there are several benches within the play area for carers. Sport and leisure are well provided for, with football pitches, basketball courts and tennis courts across the park, plus Lewsey Sports Park and Pool, a leisure centre with a 25 metre swimming pool and flume slide, a gym, a boxing studio, squash courts and a cafe. Parking serves both the park and the leisure centre. With its combination of a big play area, open parkland, a brook and a full leisure centre with a cafe, Lewsey Park is one of the best-equipped family destinations in the west of Luton.
