About Mudchute Park and Farm

Mudchute Park and Farm is one of the largest inner-city farms in Europe, set across 32 acres on the Isle of Dogs with sweeping views towards Canary Wharf and a short walk or river-crossing from Greenwich. Run by a charity and free to visit every day, it is home to over 100 animals and is the only Rare Breed Survival Trust Approved Conservation Farm Park in London. Larger animals such as Dexter cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, donkeys and llamas graze the outer fields, while smaller, cuddlier residents - rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks and aviary birds - live next to the main courtyard in Pets Corner, which has its own set opening hours. Children can also get up close through bookable animal experience sessions. The farm opens daily from 8am to 4pm (animals head in from around 3pm) and the surrounding park is open dawn to dusk, with an outdoor playground in adjacent Millwall Park for little ones to burn off energy. The Mudchute Kitchen Cafe serves food and drinks Tuesday to Sunday, and there are toilets with baby changing in the courtyard. There is no main car park, so the farm recommends arriving by DLR, bus or on foot. As a free, all-ages day out near Greenwich, donations help keep it open.
