About Surrey Docks Farm

Surrey Docks Farm is a free, working city farm and education charity on the Thames at Rotherhithe, a short hop from Southwark. It enables the whole community to learn about farming, food production and the natural environment, and it's a lovely family day out in the heart of the city. Animals on the farm include goats, sheep, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, a pony and beehives, and families can buy a bag of feed for £1 to feed many of them. On Saturdays there's a bookable Meet the Small Animals session (around £2 per person), with occasional lamb bottle-feeding when the season allows. A farm shop sells the farm's own eggs, meat and plants, while The Barn coffee shop just outside the entrance serves drinks and food. The classroom area has toilets and hand-washing facilities, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead. Open every day of the year including bank holidays, with free entry and donations encouraged, Surrey Docks Farm is one of the most accessible and enjoyable animal experiences for families in south-east London.
