About Victoria Common
Victoria Common is a peaceful but well-used green space right at the heart of Northfield town centre, managed by Birmingham City Council. It opened to the public in 1897 on the site of an ancient village space known as Bradley's Field, giving it long roots as a community common. For families it is a strong choice, with two children's playgrounds split by age, one for older children and one for younger children, equipped with swings, slides, climbing frames, rockers, roundabouts and see-saws. Beyond the play areas the park has a multi-use games area for ball sports, a trim trail for exercise and a picnic area, making it a flexible space for play and informal recreation. The main entrance, with a car park, is via Church Road, and there are further entrances from Northfield Shopping Centre, St Lawrence Road and Heath Road South, so it is easy to reach on foot from the town centre. With its central location, generous play provision and sports facilities, Victoria Common is one of Northfield's most popular everyday parks.
