About Kings Norton Park

Kings Norton Park is an urban park on Westhill Road in Kings Norton, around 6.5 miles south-south-west of Birmingham city centre, managed by Birmingham City Council. The park consists of a series of large green open spaces interspersed with wooded areas, and its land dates back to medieval times; it was formally laid out after being bought by the Birmingham Civic Society in 1920. The children's playground is well equipped, with swings, slides, climbing frames and a 'hill fort' play feature, and there are picnic tables and seating close to a canal feeder brook beside the play area. Older children are catered for by a skateboard park with a smooth concrete base and ramp that is popular, well kept and used by all ages. Entrances are on Westhill Road, at the end of Wychall Lane, and on Pershore Road South, and there is a small car park with two disabled bays at the main Westhill Road entrance. Note there are no toilets on site. The mix of a varied playground, a skate park and historic open parkland makes it a versatile local destination for families.
