About Rectory Park
Rectory Park is a family-friendly green haven of fields and woodland within the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, managed by Birmingham City Council. The park has a children's play park, along with seating in the form of benches and picnic tables installed by the Friends of Rectory Park, the volunteer group that supports the site. Sports play a big part here: there are full-sized grass football pitches, mini-soccer pitches and cricket pitches, and the park is home to three local clubs, Sutton Coldfield Amateur Boxing Club, Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club and Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club. A car park of around 20 spaces serves visitors. The park is designated as a Queen Elizabeth II Fields in Trust site, protecting it as public recreation land for the future. Entrances are on Broomie Close off Coleshill Road and on Rectory Road. With its combination of a play park, extensive sports provision and natural fields and woodland to explore, Rectory Park is a well-used community space on the eastern side of Sutton Coldfield.
