About Heavitree Pleasure Ground

Heavitree Pleasure Ground is one of Exeter's most popular neighbourhood parks, sitting in the heart of Heavitree to the east of the city centre. It is owned and managed by Exeter City Council and is free to use. The park combines a children's play area with a good spread of sporting and leisure facilities, so there is something for most ages. A seasonal paddling pool is a highlight on warm summer days, run as part of the council's Splashdown programme and typically open from around 10am to 7pm when the weather is warm. Older children and teenagers are catered for by a skate ramp and a bike track, while the park also has tennis courts, a basketball court and a bowls club. Around these facilities are areas of open grass that are used for informal play, picnics and relaxing. Its central location within a busy residential area makes it easy to reach on foot, and it remains a focal point for families and community events in Heavitree. As with Exeter's other parks, the pleasure ground is open to the public free of charge throughout the year.
