About Cusworth Hall & Park
Cusworth Hall and Park is a Grade I listed 18th-century country house set in around 60 acres of historic parkland at Cusworth, just outside Doncaster. The hall was built between 1740 and 1745 and since the 1960s has been owned by the council; it now houses Heritage Doncaster's social-history museum, telling the story of life in South Yorkshire. The landscaped grounds were laid out from 1761 and include a chain of three ornamental lakes dotted with features such as the Rock Arch and the Cascade, framed by sweeping lawns that are ideal for a day out. The parkland is open to the public every day of the year, and for families there are children's play areas and a playing field within the grounds, plus a variety of walking trails that start from the hall reception. A free weekly parkrun takes place on Saturday mornings. There is a car park, a cafe and toilets, and entry to the park is free. With its grand hall, museum, lakes, trails and play areas, Cusworth makes an easy and varied family visit that mixes heritage with plenty of outdoor space.
