About Hexthorpe Park
Hexthorpe Park is one of Doncaster's most distinctive parks, set beside Greenfield Lane and Bramworth Road in Hexthorpe. It combines classic Victorian-style parkland with woodlands and The Dell, a garden of special interest, and it is home to the borough's only public aviary, which makes it a memorable place for a family visit. For children there are toddler and junior play areas plus natural play areas, while older children and teenagers are well served by a skate park, a BMX track, a multi-use games area, tennis courts and a basketball post. There is also a bowling green, sports pitches and a playing field for organised and informal games. Nature walks thread through the woodlands, and when you need a break there is The Dell Cafe, along with picnic areas and teen sheltered seating. There is no vehicular access into the park itself, but on-street parking is available nearby. The park is managed by City of Doncaster Council and is free to visit. With its gardens, aviary, wheeled-sports facilities and varied play areas, Hexthorpe Park offers something for every age in one green space close to the town centre.
