About Greenbank Park Playground
Greenbank Park is a well-loved public park in the Mossley Hill area of south Liverpool, created in 1897 when Liverpool Corporation bought land from the Rathbone family, who had owned neighbouring Greenbank House. The walled garden is all that remains of the Rathbone estate and now contains an artwork dedicated to the social reformer Eleanor Rathbone. The park is arranged around a lake and fishing pond, with football pitches, a conservation area of mature trees and a large, popular glass-fronted café. For families there is a children's playground, making it an easy spot to combine a play, a walk by the water and a coffee.
