About Willen Lake (South)

Willen Lake is Milton Keynes' most popular park, a roughly 100-acre lakeside site cared for by The Parks Trust, a local charity, and free to enter. The South Lake is the busy, family-focused side, home to a large outdoor play area and the seasonal Splash 'n' Play outdoor splash park, which are free to use. Surfaced, accessible paths run right around both the north and south lakes, making it a popular spot for walking, cycling and buggy-friendly days out, and there is a trim trail for a bit of informal exercise. Alongside the free play, the South Lake offers a range of paid attractions and activities including the Watersports Centre, where visitors can try kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, pedalos and open-water swimming, plus the Treetop Extreme high ropes course. Facilities include the Willen Lake Cafe and other food and drink outlets, accessible public toilets near Splash 'n' Play and a Changing Places facility at the Watersports Centre, and plentiful picnic tables. There are four car parks on site where parking charges apply, along with electric vehicle charging. The quieter North Lake is known for the Peace Pagoda and nature, so the whole site combines lively family play with calmer green space.
