About Ouzel Valley Park
Ouzel Valley Park is one of the largest parks in Milton Keynes by area, cared for by The Parks Trust and free to enter. It follows the River Ouzel through the east of the city, running from around Caldecotte Lake towards Willen Lake, and offers a spacious, open feel with flat, accessible leisure routes that are popular for walking, cycling and family days out. The park has several free children's play areas. At Oakgrove there are three play areas aimed at ages 2 to 10, with equipment including toddler and junior swings, multi-play frames, carousels, rockers, climbing frames and nets, as well as a BMX pump track suitable for all ages and skill levels. At Monkston Park there are five play stations spread across the parkland designed for ages 5 to 12, featuring a scramble net and tyre swing, climbing poles, logs and steps. Note that the separate Woolstone and Simpson play areas are not managed by The Parks Trust. The park is generally flat, with a few gentle slopes over bridges, and the gates are wheelchair accessible, making it buggy-friendly. There are no public toilets within the park, but facilities are available nearby at Willen Lake South. Several free car parks serve the park, mostly along Newport Road, including the Barge, Cricket Green and Ouzel Valley car parks.
