About West Park
West Park is a large free public park on Walton Street in west Hull, close to the KCOM Stadium, and is managed by Hull City Council. The centre of the park for families is its large play area, which offers a wide variety of equipment including an activity centre, spinning bowls, a spring ride, swings, step logs, a sky rail and a climbing tower, so there is something for both younger children and older ones. In summer the seasonal water play area and paddling pool open up as an extra attraction. Around the playground the park is unusually well equipped: there is a skate park, a multi-use games area, an outdoor gym, bowling greens, a model railway run by enthusiasts and a wildlife aviary, as well as wide open green spaces for running around and kicking a ball. A Walk Hull trail with interactive waystations threads through the park for families who want a gentle walk. A toilet block with male, female, child and disabled toilets sits next to the paddling pool and is open daily, with baby changing available in the accessible toilet. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the play area itself.
