About St George Park

St George Park is a Victorian suburban park covering around 38 acres in the St George area of east Bristol, close to Redfield, and is managed by Bristol City Council. The park is set around a natural valley holding a landscaped lake, home to ducks, swans and other waterfowl. In the 2020s it received significant council investment, including a redeveloped skatepark and play facilities. Families will find a dog-free playground and a BMX and skateboard wheels park, alongside tennis courts, a bowling green and a cafe kiosk. There is no admission charge and the park is open at all times. Public toilets are open daily from 8am to 6pm, with extended hours at Christmas, and the park is wheelchair accessible. At the time of research the car park was closed for building works, so on-street parking or public transport is advised. Dogs are allowed on leads but must stay out of the lake, and the council has at times monitored suspected avian botulism, asking visitors not to feed or handle the birds.
