About Cripplegate Park

Cripplegate Park lies to the west of Worcester on New Road, opposite the county cricket ground and across the River Severn from the city centre. Laid out in a traditional style, it offers a diverse range of features including formal flower beds, shrub rows, annual bedding, mature trees and open grassed areas. The children's play area makes it a family destination, and recent improvements under the city's play programme have added nest swings and a half-court basketball facility. The park is multi-functional, with tennis courts and bowling greens alongside the play area, and events are held throughout the year for residents and visitors. Five new tennis courts are available to book, with coaching for children and adults. Coin-operated public toilets (requiring a 20p piece) are on site, open roughly 07:00 to 19:00 in summer and 07:00 to 16:00 in winter. A decorative fountain operates daily from the late-May bank holiday until 1 September, and the Sons of Rest building is available for community hire. Cripplegate Park holds a Green Flag Award and is supported by the Friends of Cripplegate Park. Entry to the park and its play area is free.
