About Underhill Park

Underhill Park is the main recreation ground and sports hub of Mumbles, on Newton Road, managed by Swansea Council with Mumbles Community Council holding a long lease to help fund improvements alongside the Mumbles Community Association. Long known as a sports venue and former home of Mumbles Rangers, the park has an all-weather pitch and changing rooms that reopened in August 2025 after refurbishment. For families the draw is the children's play area, which has been renewed with a junior multiplay unit, a toddler multiplay unit, a play house, swings, a carousel, a zip wire, a trampoline, a climbing net and a picnic table, giving a good mix of equipment for both little ones and older children; earlier toddler equipment including a toddler slide and baby swings was added through the Friends of Mumbles Parks and local funding. Entry to the park is free. There is parking at the park off Newton Road serving the sports facilities. Its position in the heart of Mumbles makes it easy to combine with a visit to the village, the promenade and Swansea Bay.
