About Westfield Park
Westfield Park is a newer playground and green space in the Westfield area of Mosborough, in the south-east of Sheffield. It was created after local families campaigned for several years through the 'Let's Get Westfield A Park' community group, which had been pressing for a park since around 2013 and ran community consultations to help shape the design. The project raised £183,000, including £108,000 from the Westfield Big Local Fund and a £75,000 contribution from Sheffield City Council, and the park was built on a parcel of land off Westfield Northway, opposite Shortbrook Primary School. The play area is designed to cater for all ages and abilities, with swings, an accessible roundabout, a multi climbing unit and a scooter track. New paths link the park together and there is a seating area, with the play space fenced off to protect children from the nearby road. As a Sheffield City Council community park it is free to use, and it has become a valued everyday space for families in Westfield and the wider Mosborough area.
