About Mount Pleasant Park

Mount Pleasant Park is a public park in Sharrow, off Abbeydale Road in Sheffield, managed by Sheffield City Council and worked on with Sharrow Community Forum. It is best known as the home of the Highfield Adventure Playground, which sits on the Abbeydale Road side of the park just below Sharrow Primary School. For families, the free adventure playground offers a tunnel slide, zip wire and sandpit, with water pumps for wet and muddy play, and indoors there are craft activities, pool and table tennis, plus a special floor area just for younger children — all free to use. Starting in 2024, the council and Sharrow Community Forum delivered a £430,000 package of capital improvements to the park's playground, scoot track and multi-use games area (MUGA). The Highfield Adventure Playground building was refurbished with Youth Investment Funding, creating a new kiosk/café and public toilets, and the new ADVENTURES building opened in July 2025. Together these facilities give children of different ages a well-equipped, supervised place to play close to the city. Free to visit year-round, Mount Pleasant Park is a valued community green space in the Sharrow and Highfield area of Sheffield.
