About Chapeltown Park

Chapeltown Park is a public park on Station Road in Chapeltown, a northern suburb of Sheffield, listed among Sheffield City Council's parks and green spaces. Covering around 24.6 acres, it is a mix of parkland and ancient woodland with Blackburn Brook running along its length, and is cared for with the support of the Friends of Chapeltown Park. In 2012 the Friends secured a brand-new natural children's playground, which remains the centrepiece for families, alongside an outdoor gym. The wider park offers a multi-use games area, tennis courts, a bowling green, a bandstand and a community building used for free events through the year. Solid paths make much of the park suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and the Blackburn Valley Cycle Trail can be joined directly from the park, giving an extended traffic-free route for walking and cycling. Toilets are available on site. The park is open all year round with no closing times and is free to enter. Surrounded by woodland with good access to walks and trails into the nearby countryside, it is a well-used, family-friendly green space in the Chapeltown and High Green area.
