About Greasbrough Park

Greasbrough Park is a neighbourhood park in the village of Greasbrough, just north of Rotherham town centre, off Main Street. It opened in 1930 after Earl Fitzwilliam donated three acres of land to provide healthy recreation for local young people, and was extended in the 1960s when a neighbouring allotment area was taken in to create a larger lawn. Owned by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and supported by the Friends of Greasbrough Parks volunteer group, set up in 2011, it offers a welcoming mix of play and open space. The children's play area includes climbing boulders and a climbing wall, with inclusive equipment such as a basket swing, inclusive spring and wheelchair-accessible roundabout, and the park has a wheelchair-accessible entrance. A multi-use games area and a children's 5-a-side football pitch on the expanded lawn give older children space for ball games, while a bowling green, dedicated to a former club member, serves the Greasbrough Park Bowls Club. The pavilion is available for community hire, and large areas of open grass are ideal for informal recreation. Entry to the park is free.
