About Beaumont Park
Beaumont Park is a Victorian public park in the St Jude's area of Plymouth that has been enjoyed by the city's residents for well over a century. Its large playground, at the western end of the park, was refurbished in 2009 and is designed with inclusion in mind: it has a wheelchair swing accessed with a radar key, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, a trampoline, a range of swings, separate toddler and senior multi-play units and a spinning pole. Just to the north of the playground there is a basketball hoop and a ball games area for older children. Paths through the park have a good surface that lets pram and wheelchair users reach most areas, although a few parts have steps, and there is seating dotted throughout. The park is centred on historic Beaumont House and its ornamental gardens, giving it a formal Victorian character alongside its play facilities. Beaumont Park is open from 7:30am until dusk and is free to use, with free one-hour car parking along Beaumont Road on the south side, and bus stops along Beaumont Road and Tothill Avenue. It is managed by Plymouth City Council.
