About Jenny Lind Park

Jenny Lind Park is a public park on Norfolk Street, just west of Norwich city centre, run by Norwich City Council and free to use. The park, its courts and playing field are named after the celebrated nineteenth-century singer Jenny Lind, and an ornate gate from the original Jenny Lind Playground for Children, once sited in Pottergate, was relocated here in 1972. At the heart of the park is a children's play area, safely enclosed and equipped with play equipment and a sand area for digging and playing, making it a good spot for younger children. Older children and teenagers are well served too, with a basketball court, a football area and a multi-use area alongside an open playing field. The park is open at all times. There is no dedicated car park, and the on-site toilets are currently closed, so it is best suited to a local visit on foot. With its mix of a dedicated play area and ball-sports facilities close to the city centre, Jenny Lind Park is a convenient and free green space for Norwich families.
