About Eaton Park
Eaton Park is one of Norwich's largest and best-loved municipal parks, laid out in the 1920s and 1930s on the south-west side of the city in the suburb of Eaton. It is run by Norwich City Council and is free to enter. The park is known for its formal design, with a central bandstand, colonnades, a model yacht pond and a rose garden, alongside wide areas of open grass for games and picnics. Families come for the large children's playground, which has been redesigned to be inclusive and accessible so that children of all ages and abilities can play together, including wheelchair users and those with sensory needs. The equipment includes swings, slides, climbing structures, game panels, communication panels and a multi-sensory fun point. Beyond the playground there is a huge range of things to do, including a popular miniature railway, a skate park, sports pitches, pitch and putt, tennis courts and bowling. A cafe and public toilets serve visitors, and there is parking on site. With its combination of heritage landscaping and generous facilities, Eaton Park makes a dependable, free day out for families from across Norwich.
