About Brunton Park (Lincoln Green)

Lincoln Green is a free neighbourhood play space in the Brunton Park estate at Gosforth, in the north of Newcastle upon Tyne, and is listed among Newcastle City Council's managed play spaces. The original play park on Lincoln Green had to be removed while the major Brunton Park flood alleviation scheme was carried out, a joint project by Northumbrian Water and the Environment Agency that diverted the course of the River Ouseburn, created a large surface-water storage basin and built new flood defences to protect more than a hundred homes. Once the engineering work was complete, a new play park was designed and built in partnership with Newcastle City Council, North Gosforth Parish Council and the local community, and reopened for residents. It serves the surrounding residential streets of the Brunton Park estate as a free, open play area for local families. Parking is on-street in the surrounding estate. As a small neighbourhood facility rather than a large destination park, detailed published information on equipment, surfacing and opening hours is limited, so some facility details are not confirmed. It remains a free, publicly accessible children's play space within the Newcastle City Council area.
