About Moortown Park

Moortown Park is one of the newest parks in Leeds, laid out on the former site of the Yorkshire Bank sports ground and managed by Leeds City Council. Spanning just over seven acres of green space, it is designed with families in mind. There are two distinct play areas: a secure, enclosed section for smaller children featuring a sandpit, swing and animals to climb on, and an open area for older children with swings, animal climbing frames and a sandpit at its centre. A paved perimeter walking circuit loops the park, ideal for bikes and prams, and the grounds include wildflower meadows, picnic benches and open grassy areas for ball games. The park is wheelchair accessible and open 24 hours a day. With its modern play facilities and attractive, well-kept green space, Moortown Park is a popular, family-friendly destination in north Leeds.
