About East Park

East Park is the largest of Hull's Victorian parks, laid out in the east of the city off Holderness Road and managed by Hull City Council. For families it is one of the best free days out in the city, built around a large children's play area with a collection of modern equipment designed for all ages and abilities. In the warmer months the seasonal water splash pad is a major draw, with 43 water jets producing geysers, ground gushers, rooster tails and spray caps, alongside seating and a picnic area. Beyond the playground the park packs in an unusual range of attractions, including a free Animal Education Centre that is home to animals and birds from around the world, swan boat rides from the boathouse, a Wicksteed splash boat, an adapted cycling scheme, an outdoor gym, bowling greens, a model yacht pond, a sensory garden and a fishing lake. The Central Pavilion Cafe serves homemade food and drinks with views over the park, and there is a branch library on site. Public toilets are provided near the boathouse, with accessible and Changing Places facilities at the Central Pavilion.
